The Perfect Story

Kravitz sounds excited

Some of us will never, ever like what the Colts did Dec. 27. Even if they win the Super Bowl, some of us will cling to the belief that they could have pursued perfection and done it without jeopardizing their chances to win their second Super Bowl of this decade.

Winning today, though, at least gives the Polian/Caldwell argument some validity. This was why they wanted to be rested and healthy, for a game like this against a hyper-physical upstart that announces its intentions and then follows up.

No asterisk this time.

No what-ifs.

Just a game, a chance for the Colts to put a penultimate chapter on the great, decade-long story they’ve written.

I don’t care about perfection.  My only complaint with Dec 27th has always been that you don’t pull the rug out from under fans two days after Christmas.  You warn them first.
