While the bone is probably stable thanks to the plate, the big question will be: how much pain can Colston tolerate? He’s likely not at risk of making the injury worse, but I can’t imagine a hit over the middle from the linebacker isn’t going to be felt seriously in his injured shoulder.
So will Colston play, or won’t he?
I say he won’t. If he does, it’ll be as a decoy. I just don’t believe he’s ready to take a hit, and if he was, he’d be taking them in practice. I wouldn’t start him in fantasy football even if he does play, because the Saints have already conceded his snap count would be lessened from his typical workload. In the end, though, I stand firm in my prediction that he won’t play. I think this is a typical Sean Payton smokescreen, in an effort to get his opponent game planning for Marques Colston. You all should know by now to trust nothing the man says. Still, this is great news that Colston is on the mend and will be contributing again soon.
Oops, my bad Sean, didn’t mean to shed light on your plan. Hopefully the Jags’ coaching staff doesn’t read this blog.
