In case you were curious how Brown has fared in his first year as a Redskin, he’s struggled. The Redskins moved him to right tackle and he’s started 13 games, playing in 14. The first half of the season saw him move somewhat gingerly and he played through consistent hip soreness. With limited mobility, his production was considered a disappointment and many within the Redskins organization considered the trade a big mistake. He’s apparently started to turn a corner, though, and in the last few weeks he’s apparently grown closer to regaining his form prior to all the injuries. While this season was largely poor by his standards, the Redskins remain optimistic based on how he’s played of late that he’ll be able to make some noise in 2011. That said, Brown was scratched from the lineup this past weekend, so it looks like injuries have crept back on him. The extent of said injury has been kept pretty quiet so far, but it’s the same old story with Jammal Brown as far as I’m concerned. Great player, can’t stay healthy.
I think the Saints definitely got the better end of that trade, but of course the final verdict can’t be rendered until we see what they are able to turn that 3rd round pick into.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
