Phil B’s postgame

It was right there.

But Peyton Manning, who passed for 396 yards and four TDs, threw an inexplicable INT, his third of the game, just 31 seconds from the end of regulation. Safety James Sanders came down with it. Manning took the blame afterward. It looked like a miscommunication with WR Pierre Garcon.

The Colts’ defense struggled early as Patriots QB Tom Brady threw TD passes to WR Wes Welker and TE Aaron Hernandez. The Colts battled back as Manning hit Gijon Robinson with a 1-yard TD pass to make it 14-7 Patriots. After BenJarvus Green-Ellis built the lead back to two scores with a 5-yard TD run, Manning hit Reggie Wayne on an 11-yard TD pass in the final seconds of the opening half. Patriots 21-14.
