Phil B has lots of interesting notes today:
* Colts CB Tim Jennings was wearing a red jersey at practice today. That signifies he’s on scout team detail. Not speaking in absolutes here, but it’s another indication that rookie Jerraud Powers will get the start at RCB for Marlin Jackson, who will play nickel. Jackson has said his right knee needs strengthening, so he will play in passing situations. Just a thought here, and then I’ve got to run, but if Powers plays as well in the regular season as he did in preseason, Jackson’s days will be numbered in Indy. Very premature, I realize, but the kid has really impressed. And after the Colts paid Kelvin Hayden some big bucks in the offseason, one can’t help but wonder if they would do it again for Jackson if Powers can be a solid cover corner.
Maybe, but remember that if 2010 is an uncapped year, the Colts won’t have to make that decision.
