Brackett, just 5-foot-11, 229 pounds, has been a fixture in the middle of the Colts defense since seizing the starting spot in 2005 — using his speed to cover ground against the run and covering tight ends down the deep middle. Indy has no one groomed to take Brackett’s place inside. The Colts do not want to lose him.
