Through seven games, Hughes’ development primarily has occurred behind the scenes. Monday marked just the fourth time he has been active for a game and only the second time he has been used on defense.
“I got maybe one or two snaps at Denver,” Hughes said.
His workload increased to approximately 18 plays against the Texans, and he had one tackle and one pressure of Schaub. It’s uncertain whether that represented a line of demarcation for Hughes, that he’ll remain involved on defense.
