Leftover questions

Oehser wraps up his series.

No. 20: Can the Colts be better this season? A tricky question, because they went 14-2 after a 14-0 start and made the Super Bowl last season. In terms of record, it’s hard to improve on that.

But the Colts added a pass rusher, Jerry Hughes, in the off-season and they are focusing on improving their short-yardage offense, something that has been an issue in key situations in recent seasons. They also could get S Bob Sanders and WR Anthony Gonzalez back after each player missed much of last season with injuries.

If things break right, and if key players stay healthy – a huge “if” in professional football — the Colts indeed could be better even if their record isn’t.
