Defenseman Zdeno Chara will not play in the World Championship in his native Czech Republic due to an ankle fracture, coach Vladimir Vujtek told Sport SME.
Chara missed practice late in the regular season after blocking a David Booth shot during a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, despite playing out the string.
I guess it was good Boston missed the playoffs, eh?
