Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
The Celtics dominated the first few minutes of the second half, built an 11-point lead, and waited for the LeBron James-less Cavaliers to fold. But in the final 15 minutes of the game, the Celtics’ arrogance came back to haunt them.
The predominantly jump-shooting Cavaliers began finding a rhythm. Daniel Gibson, relegated to a bench player the last two years, knocked down a pair of 3-pointers. And finally, the Celtics lost their composure and eventually the game…
It wasn’t that the Cavaliers were that good, rather the Celtics were outworked, outhustled, and then began barking at officials.
Well said, Mr. Gary Washburn.
Raise your hand if you are looking forward to another up-and-down regular season? I sure as hell don’t want a repeat of last year.
I get it. It’s all about the playoffs. But if that’s the case, then I don’t want to watch this team give half-ass efforts for six months.
Spare me the “second night of a back-to-back, flying in late, Cleveland was emotionally charged for the home opener” excuse. This team is too damn good to fall apart especially against a lesser team.
On Page 2, we want Semih, we want Semih.
The shooting numbers for Jermaine O’Neal, in a word, suck.
The shooting woes he experienced with the Miami Heat in the playoffs last season have apparently followed him to Boston.
O’Neal has missed four of his five shots from the field with the Celtics this season.
CSNNE – Jermaine O’Neal’s shooting struggles continue
Shooting woes aside, O’Neal was flat out awful on both sides of the ball last night. I’m not exaggerating when I bring up the comparison to Mikki Moore. If his injured wrist is too painful, then let’s play Semih Erden. He cannot look worse.
I’m done ranting. Enjoy your day.
