Yesterday Bobby Valentine told the media that he had spoken to Kevin Youkilis and told him that he would not be getting much playing time while Middlebrooks plays third. Before today’s game, Youk said that Bobby V. told the media about Middlebrooks starting before letting him know. The last thing the team needs is an unhappy player on the bench. The Red Sox need to either find a way to get Youk into the lineup or trade him as soon as possible. The situation they have right now is not fair to anyone involved and needs to get settled before it becomes ugly. Kevin Youkilis has made some great contributions to the Red Sox throughout his career in Boston. It would be nice to see him given some respect on his way out the door.
