After Years Of Suffering Through Shooting Slumps, Klay Thompson Now Deals With Them Represented By These Emojis: ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ถ

Los Angeles Lakers v Boston Celtics

WARRIORS PRACTICE FACILITY, OAKLAND, CA — Klay Thompson is currently shooting just 19.6% from three-point-range and 38.4% overall, but the all-star shooting guard’s slumps with the Golden State Warriors have been well-documented:

Today, Thompson spoke with reporters about his latest valleys, but appeared a lot more easy-going about it than in the past. He has matured to a point where he can now laugh about it.

He can actually do more than chuckle or shrug it off. We can even show them through emojis:

More detail from Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area:

โ€œIโ€™m pretty sure it was the worst game Iโ€™ve ever played against the Lakers,โ€ Thompson told CSNBayArea.com after shootaround Monday, hours before tipoff against the New Orleans Pelicans.
.
โ€œBut I know itโ€™s going to get better starting with tonight.โ€

From Connor LeTourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle:

But Thompson has a point: If anything, (Kevin) Durantโ€™s arrival has afforded Thompson even more open looks than normal. He shot 42.3 percent from three-point range in the preseason. In games that count, Thompson is making only 28.6 percent of his three-pointers when there is nobody within 6 feet of him.
.
โ€œObviously we have different players, but Iโ€™m still getting the shots I always got before he was here,โ€ Thompson said. โ€œItโ€™s not on Kevin at all.โ€
.
Head coach Steve Kerr has suggested that Thompson is โ€œpressingโ€ at times, not allowing himself the chance to find much of a rhythm. Thompson believes the explanation is simpler: Shooting ruts plague all players and this is just one of his.
.
โ€œI think Iโ€™m taking good shots,โ€ Thompson said. โ€œJust havenโ€™t fallen yet, and they will. Only takes for me a couple to go in and โ€ฆ right back on track.โ€

From Anthony Slater of the Bay Area News Group:

โ€œIโ€™ve had plenty of them. They just werenโ€™t as relevant last year because we were winning so much. 4-2 seems like a bad start for us because we set the bar so high. Itโ€™s just magnified when you lose. Nature of the beast.โ€
.
On whether it sticks out because the season is only six games oldโ€ฆ
.
โ€œIt would stick out no matter what because we have so much attention on us. You start doubting yourself, shoot, thatโ€™s when youโ€™re in trouble.โ€
.
On how his shot feels right nowโ€ฆ
.
โ€œThe ones that feel good are the ones that are online. When itโ€™s off-line, thatโ€™s when it doesnโ€™t feel good. When itโ€™s online and itโ€™s long, even short, you know itโ€™s your legs. Last game, I had a ton of misses short. So I just got to get some rest and use my legs more. Make an adjustment.โ€
