GOLF CHANNEL’S ORIGINAL HIT SERIES THE HANEY PROJECT RETURNS MONDAY FOR SEASON TWO WITH EMMY AWARD-WINNER RAY ROMANO
The Haney Project Premieres March 1 at 9 p.m. ET on Golf Channel
Video Preview: Haney Meets Romano
ORLANDO, Fla. – Golf Channel’s most buzzed-about original series The Haney Project makes its highly anticipated return Monday, March 1 at 9 p.m. ET, for season two with a new celebrity golf student. Featuring Everybody Loves Raymond star and Emmy Award-winner Ray Romano, season two chronicles Romano’s attempts at improving his golf game under the guidance of one of the world’s best golf instructors and Tiger Woods’ swing coach, Hank Haney.
Romano follows on the heels of NBA Hall-of-Famer Charles Barkley who starred in The Haney Project’s first season, which marked the highest-rated launch of an original series in Golf Channel history. The second season follows the same entertaining format that made the premiere season of The Haney Project a critical and ratings success. Like its predecessor, the second season is engaging, funny and chock full of great golf tips for people who play the game. While viewers will certainly benefit from Haney’s instruction, they will be equally entertained by Romano’s larger-than-life personality.
As a self-professed lover of golf and a regular at celebrity tournaments across the country, the new season chronicles Romano’s quest to break an 18-hole score of 80 with the help of Haney’s expertise. Romano added, “I’m a huge fan of The Haney Project and I’m excited to take on a new challenge. I followed Charles’ progress week in and out during the first season and I realized that Hank Haney was the guy who could finally get me to the next level in my golf game. I’ve tried many ways to improve over the years, and I thought, ‘why not work with the best coach around?’  I told my wife about the project, and while she doesn’t know anything about golf, she does like the idea that after 21 years it’s someone else’s job to try and fix me.”
“We are thrilled to have top entertainer Ray Romano on the second season of The Haney Project,” said Tom Stathakes, Golf Channel senior vice president of programming, production and operations.  “Romano and Haney will not only be great for golf fans, but will introduce Golf Channel to a whole new audience of entertainment fans. With Ray’s sense of humor and dedication to improving his golf game, the season two premiere will be bigger than ever.”
The Haney Project is part of Golf Channel’s new slate of original programming featuring A-list Hollywood talent and fascinating sports personalities.  Golf Channel’s other original programming standouts for the spring include Being John Daly (Premiering March 2 at 9 p.m. ET), which chronicles the infamous golfer’s road to redemption; and Donald J. Trump’s Fabulous World of Golf (Premiering April 26 at 9 p.m. ET) where celebrities complete head-to-head on the green.
The Haney Project is produced by Golf Channel in conjunction with The WorkShop, LLC, an independent multi-media production company based in Bryn Mawr, Penn.
