Are you ready for the “American Idol” of baseball? Troy O’Leary is. A new reality show is in the works by the former Red Sox left fielder. The show will look at videos of young players and evaluate if they have what it takes to make it in baseball:
O’Leary said he’s not interested in the thirtysomething player who’s trying to get back into baseball or make it for the first time. What he wants is a young player who has slipped through the cracks of major league scouting.
I guess that rules out Julio Lugo.
