Seen at a Canadian gift shop

I was in Canada, like, yesterday. At the Canadian gift store, I found this t-shirt. I did not buy one. I like Canada, and I like hockey, and I love a blurry hockey player skating around in a maple leaf as much as the next guy, but this is such a weird concept for a shirt.

I mean, they were selling it at a gift shop for a bunch of tourists. It didn't advertise a team or anything, just sort of the concept of hockey. I think in general, most gift shops intend to sell things that would be unusual for visitors, that separate one location from another. Canada selling this shirt, advertising hockey, again, not the Leafs or Canadiens or Jets or whoever, but specifically hockey.

This is either an extremley clever jab at the United States and Russia et al (i.e., your hockey sucks!) or a baffling statement along the lines of: Hockey: So that's pretty fuckin' weird, eh?

Just when I had me girlfriend convinced that hockey was cool.
