Rockford Peaches to Reunite…Almost

Last summer, the cast of “Field of Dreams” celebrated the 25^th anniversary of the Academy-Award nominated movie where it was made…Dyersville, Iowa.

Not to be outdone, many of the actors from “A League of Their Own” are reuniting Saturday to commemorate the 23^rd(?) anniversary of their film. However, they won’t be in a city where the flim was shot, much less Rockford, Illinois where the Rockford Peaches called home.

They’ll be more than 80 miles southeast.  In Naperville, Illinois.

All the big names not named Tom Hanks, Madonna, Rosie O’Donnell, Geena Davis or Jon Lovitz will be there too: Marla Hooch, Tank Girl (who is actually from Rockford originally!), Anne “John Cusack’s Sister” Cusack, Rob Reiner’s daughter, the Other Anne Ramsey, the charm school instructor and two other actresses.

Also among the non-attendees…director Penny Marshall who, apparently hurt her ankle.

“It appears she can’t walk,” Hollywood Palms marketing director Holly Hu said.

Sounds like a blast!  Now…let’s all remember that famous line that none of the actresses appearing said.
