When Martin Brodeur joined the Blues last season, it seemed like a short-term gig. That proved to be true of his on-ice contributions to the Blues, but Brodeur ended up sticking around long after Brian Elliott and Jake Allen reclaimed the St. Louis crease. Once the year wrapped up, it looked like Brodeur would head off to New Jersey and take up a permanent role with the Devils.
In a surprising twist, Jeremy Rutherford reports that Brodeur may end up returning to the Blues.
Spoke with Martin Brodeur today. Sounds very much like he will be back with Blues. He'll meet with Army next week to discuss enhanced role.

Brodeur’s role with the Blues, should he be given/take one, is a mystery but it’s pretty noteworthy that there’s even a possibility he’ll be back. Brodeur heading back to the Devils appeared to be a done deal, but that may now be on the back burner. Does it have anything to do with the front office changes in New Jersey?
Considering Brodeur’s wealth of hockey knowledge, he’d be a solid choice for any number of front office positions.
