The Red Sox have signed free agent outfielder Shane Victorino to a three year $38 million contract. Victorino is a career .275 hitter who has limited power. He put up his best power numbers in 2010 with 18 homers and 69 RBIs. He does have good speed and he stole 39 bases last year.
The signing of Victorino likely means the Red Sox will no longer pursue Cody Ross.
