Red Sox Organist Josh Kantor to perform Fenway favorites at Street Pianos Concert Today at 12:15 outside ball park

Red Sox organist Josh Kantor will perform some of his Fenway favorites at the street piano located at the Boston Arts Academy on 174 Ipswich Street from 12:25pm -12:50pm.  (http://streetpianos.com/boston2013/pianos/fenway-park/). The piano is one of 75 pianos installed in public places by the Celebrity Series of Boston to commemorate their 75th anniversary season. Each piano bears the simple instruction, “Play Me, I’m Yours” and is available for any member of the public to play and enjoy.

Josh Kantor has played the organ for Boston Red Sox games at Fenway Park since 2003 (and does his best to find time to interact with fans during games at http://twitter.com/jtkantor). He plays organ, piano, and accordion in indie-rock bands the Baseball Project, the Split Squad, and Jim’s Big Ego. He has played organ on ESPN and at Symphony Hall and TD Garden, and has performed with members of R.E.M., Blondie, the Dream Syndicate, the Plimsouls, the Fleshtones, the Posies, Mountain Goats, and Drivin’ ‘N’ Cryin’, and with Chuck Prophet, Ben Gibbard, Jon Langford, Erin McKeown, Robyn Hitchcock, the So So Glos, Joseph Arthur, and Ellis Paul.
