Red Sox and Beckett Still Talking Deal

The negotiations between the Red Sox and Josh Beckett are ongoing with Gordon Edes reporting that the team does not want to offer more than a four year deal.  If the Red Sox were to get Beckett for four more years he would be 34 at the end of the contract, two years older than Pedro Martinez was when they let him walk.  Since Beckett has had some arm trouble in each of the last two seasons and blister trouble before that, you can understand why the Red Sox are hesitant to go beyond a four year deal.  If the team ponies up the cash it could be a win-win situation for both parties to agree to a four-year deal, look for some sort of option to be thrown in to seal the deal.
