Ryan Lavarnway who has just been killing the ball in Pawtucket has been called up to the Red Sox as Kevin Youkilis is being placed on the DL with a sore back.
I gotta admit, I’m excited to see what Lavarnway does with the Sox since he’s just been a huge hitting force in AAA. Lavarnway’s position is officially a catcher, however he is rated pretty poor defensively, so he is being touted as the possible DH of the future.
