This past Thursday, John Rocker was expected to throw out the first pitch and greet fans prior to the Carolina Mudcats game against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
Unfortunately (for some)…that never happened.

And while the team has yet to announce why the former Atlanta Braves closer’s appearance was cancelled…it’s always fun to speculate. Could it have been because of the recent Confederate flag controversy in neighboring South Carolina? Maybe it’s the idea that Rocker eally isn’t an “ambassador” from the Mudcats big league affiliate?
Or perhaps it was something bigger.

Oh…it’s fun to speculate isn’t it? Regardless of the reason, the Mudcats have yet to announce if the appearance will be re-scheduled.
