The Red Sox were without Youk and Ellsbury in tonight’s game but they may not have helped much. Justin Masterson struggled in the game giving up 8 hits, 3 walks, and 6 earned runs. The bullpen didn’t do much better; Jones gave up a home run and Lopez continued his quest to be demoted with 4 hits and 2 runs in 1 inning. His ERA is now over 10. The Red Sox had 8 hits but couldn’t really get a rally going and hit into 3 double plays, including one by Nick Green to end the game.
