Matt Cassel sucks. The end. Thanks for coming.

Alright, I’ll elaborate a little.

As I wrote a few weeks back, any of the QBs the Bills bring in via FA are going to suck. Its really just measuring them on a scale of suckatude. If we are doing 1-5 rating on the scale with 1 being the drizzling shits and 5 being the horse shits, I’d  say Cassel is about a 3. Why? Because unlike some of the crap sandwiches out there, Cassel hasn’t been remotely average or slightly good since 2010. At least the other guys were flashes in the pan within the last 2-3 years who are out there. Now, in fairness, his 2008 and 2010 seasons (48TDs, 18 INTs, 6,809 yards, QB rating of 90, and 20-12 record) are probably the best years any of these retread QBs have had.

However, he really fell off a cliff after 2010. I mean, the dude is kind of a walking punchline and factor in how the Bills defenses under Wannstedt and George Edwards shut his ass down (24 points in two games with the Chiefs). Its more or less an opinion of do you like him more because his flash in the pan years are much better than Sanchez, Hoyer and Bradford or does his longevity of suckatude in comparison damper your spirit. I tend to believe he just sucks like all of these guys.

In terms of actually trading for the guy? I’m not exactly a fan of it. Am I in full-fledge rage mood? No. I’ll live without the 5th and 7th round picks by getting a 6th pick. However, you do tend to find players in that 5th round way more than in the 6th round and wouldn’t you rather just sign the suckatude guys who are ranked between 1-2 for nothing? But whatever. I gotta bigger fish to fry.

Hopefully this isn’t the end of the Bills QB hunt as the thought of Cassel battling EJ for the starting job in training camp is like watching “Iron” Mike Sharpe wrestle SD “Special Deliver” Jones. Just a bunch of jobbers at this point.

BTW, I should have a Q&A about Cassel up in the next day or so from bloggers who covered him in Minnesota and KC. So, be on the lookout.
