Golf Channel and Sirius XM To Carry Tiger Woods Announcement/Apology/Whatever It Is

Two releases for you regarding the Tiger Woods appearance before hand-picked reporters and a pool camera. Golf Channel will have full coverage a half-hour before Tiger starts apologizing or whatever he’s going to do.

Here are Golf Channel’s coverage plans.

Golf Channel to Deliver Comprehensive Coverage of Tiger Woods’ Statement to the Media Friday Beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET

GolfChannel.com to Stream Golf Channel’s Live Coverage at 10:30 a.m. ET

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 18, 2010 – Golf Channel will deliver wall-to-wall coverage of Tiger Woods’ statement to the media on Friday, with the network’s reporters on-site at Ponte Vedra Beach, its Orlando studios and in Arizona at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.

Golf Channel and GolfChannel.com’s live coverage will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET, followed by Woods’ statement to the media at 11 a.m. ET.  Kraig Kann, Brandel Chamblee and Charlie Rymer will anchor coverage from the network’s Orlando studios, joined by Rich Lerner and Steve Sands from Ponte Vedra Beach and Jim Gray and Frank Nobilo from the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona. 

Golf Channel’s coverage is scheduled to include:

  • Interviews with PGA TOUR Professionals prior to Woods’ statement.
  • Look-ins to the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship for player reaction during Woods’ statement.
  • Interviews and reaction from PGA TOUR Professionals immediately following Woods’ statement.

GolfChannel.com’s editorial coverage will include reports from Jay Coffin and Randall Mell on-site at Ponte Vedra Beach and Rex Hoggard from Arizona.

During the network’s Golf Central Pre Game show at 1:30 p.m. ET, Kelly Tilghman and Nick Faldo will provide reaction from the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, and Golf Channel contributor John Feinstein will join the show in-studio.

SIRIUS XM RADIO TO CARRY TIGER WOODS’ STATEMENT LIVE
NEW YORK – February 18, 2010 – SIRIUS XM Radio will provide listeners around the country with live coverage of Tiger Woods’ public statement tomorrow, Feb. 19 at 11:00 am ET on Mad Dog Radio (SIRIUS channel 123, XM channel 144) and The PGA TOUR Network (XM channel 146, SIRIUS channel 209 with the “Best of XM”).
SIRIUS XM will air Woods’ comments, the golfer’s first since announcing on his website in mid-December that he would be taking an indefinite leave from the sport, live from the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. 
Regularly scheduled talk programming on Mad Dog Radio and The PGA TOUR Network will air as scheduled before and after Woods’ statement. SIRIUS XM hosts will provide their thoughts and analysis of the day’s news and invite listeners to call-in with their reaction and opinions throughout the day.
