College Basketball Notices

Let’s give you some college basketball stuff from the two major college basketball networks, CBS and ESPN. First, CBS will have a women’s college basketball doubleheader Saturday opposite NBC’s NFL Wild Card doubleheader and then, CBS will have a men’s game on Sunday following Ravens-Patriots.

CBS Sports’ wild weekend of NCAA Basketball tips off on Saturday, Jan. 9 (2:00-6:00 PM, ET) with a women’s doubleheader featuring four of the nation’s top ranked teams. *No. 6-ranked Ohio State visits *No. 19-ranked Michigan State (2:00 PM, ET) followed by *No. 7-ranked North Carolina battling *No. 1-ranked Connecticut (4:00 PM, ET).
On Sunday, Jan. 10 (4:30-6:30 PM, ET) men’s action follows CBS Sports’ NFL coverage of the AFC Wild Card game as No. 1-ranked Kansas takes on *No. 16-ranked Tennessee.
Saturday, Beth Mowins is joined by Deb Antonelli for the Ohio State-Michigan State contest. Ken Mack and Mark Grant produce and direct, respectively. Don Criqui calls play-by-play for the North Carolina-Connecticut game along with analyst Rebecca Lobo. Ross Schneiderman produces and Suzanne Smith directs. 
On Sunday, Verne Lundquist joins CBS Sports’ lead college basketball analyst, Clark Kellogg to call the action for Kansas-Tennessee from Thompson-Boling Assembly Center & Arena in Knoxville, Tenn. Bob Dekas, CBS Sports’ Coordinating Producer for college basketball, produces and Chris Svendsen directs.   
AT THE HALF®, CBS Sports’ halftime studio show is hosted on Saturday by Tim Brando, who will be joined by Sports Illustrated’s Seth Davis and CBS College Sports Network’s Ann Schatz. James Brown and Davis will be on the set on Sunday. AT THE HALF®, live from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City, provides all the day’s news, scores and highlights. Vin DeVito produces and Linda Malino directs on Saturday. On Sunday, Eric Mann produces and Bob Matina directs. Harold Bryant is Vice President, Production, CBS Sports.

And ESPN ushers in conference play with something it calls the Conference Tip-Off which starts on Monday.

ESPN’s Inaugural Conference Tip-Off Begins Jan. 11; Action Includes 42 Games of Inter-Conference Play Through Jan. 17

The inaugural Conference Tip-Off, which takes place Jan. 11-17 on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN360.com, highlights the first week of ESPN’s regular weekday and Saturday conference action, including Big Monday, Super Tuesday, Wednesday Night Hoops, Thursday Night Showcase and Saturday Primetime. The newly created franchise will showcase 42 games, including No. 6 Villanova at Louisville (Jan. 11, ESPN), No. 3 Kentucky at Florida (Jan. 12, ESPN), No. 9 North Carolina at No. 21 Clemson (Jan. 13, ESPN) and No. 7 Syracuse at No. 8 West Virginia (Jan 16, ESPN). Seventeen conferences will be represented through seven days, including more than 10 teams ranked in the Top 25.
