Coach Calvi has accepted a ‘Coach in Waiting’ position at South Alabama. Coming out of the National Championship game, we all knew that Carolina’s assistant coaches would be hot commodity’s for any college baseball vacancy this season. It comes as no surprise that Calvi was ready to move on, as his coaching has taking some harsh criticism over the past six years by the fans and media.
I was a little shocked that he would take a ‘Head Coach in Waiting’ position at a school like USA. Coach Calvi will been an assistant coach next year and then take over as head coach the following season.
We wish Coach Calvi the best in the future, and we will now wait and see where Coach Tanner goes to hire a replacement. Any idea’s who might come in as the new pitching coach?
