Bruins re-sign Torey Krug and Reilly Smith

Gophers

Wasn’t expecting any re-signs until the off-season, yet here we are.

The Boston Bruins have announced they have re-signed Torey Krug to a one-year extension and Reilly Smith to a two-year deal. Krug will get a cap hit of $3,400,000 next season and Smith will earn an annual cap hit of $3,425,000. At least we don’t have to worry about these two holding out again.

Kinda surprised Smith got more years over Krug, considering that Krug has been the more consistent player of the two. Also Smith at $3.425M is a bit of a joke, but not as good as this one:

BOOM. Bumper.

Seriously though, it’s gonna be hard to find a Top 6 guy for that money, especially with the Bruins cap so tight — though you can argue if Smith is even a Top 6 guy… Also makes you think Dougie’s going for north of $4M easy and who knows what Soderberg will demand, if he even remains in the NHL after this season to begin with.
