What’s this news I hear about VMart playing…in an actual ball game???

Nothing is official, but all signs point to Victor Martinez brushing off his DL status and being in the lineup on Monday when the Sox take on Anaheim. VMart has been making steady gains…he caught Wake’s bullpen and it was all good. Then, he wanted to make sure that catching a 90+ fastball didn’t hurt the thumb, so he caught Clay’s bullpen session yesterday…and all went well. Tonight, VMart is going to be camped out in the bullpen and catching the pitchers as they warm up. No one will say officially, but it looks like VMart will once again be our starting catcher come Monday.
It couldn’t come soon enough. I love Kevin Cash and appreciate what he has done while both VMart and Tek have been down for the count, but we need our catchers back. We need VMart back behind the plate….and we need his bat in the lineup.
