Alfredo Aceves will take the mound today to continue his quest to become the 5th starter in the rotation. His stock was bolstered a little yesterday when Vicente Padilla struggled on the hill. Padilla was hit hard and wasn’t fooling any batters as he gave up four runs in one inning. Aceves could become the front-runner for the last spot in the rotation with a solid outing today. Alfredo’s biggest roadblock to the rotation might be Valentine who said he would consider using Aceves as the closer if needed.
