The two wins over Clemson gave South Carolina coach Ray Tanner his 900th career victory in 21 years with North Carolina State and the Gamecocks. It was also South Carolina’s fifth win in its past six games with Clemson (5-2) – a rare run of dominance in a state series where the Gamecocks (5-1) came in with a slight 17-15 edge since 2000.
The teams play twice more this season, at South Carolina on April 9 and at Clemson on April 16.
