Instead of rattling off all the things that have happened in baseball since Andruw Jones’ last big league at bat in October 2012…it would be easier to just cut to the chase.

The ten-time Gold Glove Award-winning outfielder is looking to make a comeback. Again. Just like he did this past off season.

“I got a couple of phone calls. I just wanted to just go to Spring Training and give it a try and see what happens,” Jones said on Sunday. “I’m going to give it one more try next year, and if I don’t get it, I will retire.”

Jones, who will be 39 in April, played 17 seasons in the Majors with five different teams. He spent two seasons in Japan, where he hit .232 with 50 home runs for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.

So, can he still hack it? His agent Scott Boras seems to think so.

“He wants to play in the big leagues again,” Boras said back in February. “He’s still got his power. If you can hit 25 home runs in Japan, you’re doing something.”
