After each game, we'll be taking stock in each players… and maybe coach's… performance. If we like what we see, we're buyin'. If we don't, we're sellin'. Or maybe we'll just hold onto our stock until we see more next game
Ray Allen/Paul Pierce/Rajon Rondo: The numbers are sick. Pierce shooting 14-19? Ray Allen 8-11 from 3?? Rajon Rondo with a 20-assist triple double??? (the entire Knicks team, by the way, had 18 assists) There's no way in hell that's going to happen again, is there? Regardless… it's pretty obvious reports of the Celtics demise have been greatly exaggerated. If you let them, they'll destroy you. I'd say more, but it'd just come out sounding like this.
The Bench: What can I say about this group right now? They flat out suck. Look at the +/- from the game last night. The lowest starters were Pierce and Rondo who were at +23… a number deflated by having to play with the bench players for stretches. Glen Davis and Delonte West were each a -16. In a blowout… every player on the bench was a negative +/-. Doc needed to keep the starters on the floor deep in to the 4th quarter just so the bench wouldn't blow the game. I can't stress how poorly they're playing. Let's keep up with the video theme to properly capture our bench:
Any wild overreaction to last night's win: I loved it as much as anyone. To be able to taunt delusional Knicks fans who thought their hodge-podge collection of bodies around Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire would be enough to give the C's a challenge is one of my joys in life right now. But let's look at this honestly: The Celtics are vastly better than the Knicks right now. That means nothing moving forward. Just like we were telling everyone not to write the C's off after looking crappy after two games… we can't turn around and start planning for the parade after one domination. This says it best (nsfw)
