We’re paying too much attention to Shaq & the 12th man

Things must not be THAT bad around here.  With the way the season ended, you'd think we'd have some hotter topics.

Because I think lost in a lot of this talk about Shaquille O'Neal returning is the fact that the Celtics don't really need him to beat the New York Knicks.  The Knicks are not a big team.  They have no 7 footers, and Ronny Turiaf is the only true center listed on their roster.  Amar'e Stoudemire will be KG's guy and Jermaine O'Neal can more than handle Jared Jeffries.  Glen Davis will be fine against Turiaf when the second units hit the floor.

What we need Shaq to do is come back at some point in the series and get his legs back (without getting hurt… PLEASE) so he can be ready for Miami.  THAT'S when we'll need Shaq.

And what's all this craziness over who the 12th man will be?  (A) This isn't baseball.  Doc can have a different 12th man every game if he wants… and (B) who cares about who won't play unless it's a 30 point blowout?  I don't even understand how this became a storyline at all.

Is it Troy Murphy?  Or will it be Sasha Pavlovic?  WHO……… will hand out the towels during timeouts?  Doc?  Care to answer?

The biggest issues surrounding this team are the health and mental well being of our top 8 guys.  Maybe 9.  Are the Big 4 plus Baby, JO, Delonte, Nads and Jeff Green now at 100%  Are they feeling refreshed, focused and on the same page?

Nothing else matters.  Nothing.
