Middlebrooks placed on DL, Brock Holt recalled

Will Middlebrooks is being placed on the 15 Day DL for a right calf strain.  Middlebrooks was scratched last minute before the game last night and then it was announced today that he would he heading on the DL.  Middlebrooks has always had issues staying healthy and it seems this is continuing in 2014.  Let’s hope this is a short stint on the DL and that he’s back with the team sooner rather than later.   The Sox have recalled Brock Holt to take his place on the roster, but it looks like that might not be the permanent solution while Middlebrooks is gone, depending on how long he will be out.
