Pete Abraham reported via twitter that Daniel Bard has been sent to AAA. This is after his worst start of the season. It was reported that the corresponding roster move was to activate Darnell McDonald.
Shelley Thoughts on this: I think the most that Bard needs is confidence and I’m not sure sending him down to AAA does this. I can’t help having visions of the Yankees ruining Joba Chamberlain running through my head. However, the Sox did this with Buchholz when he was struggling and it seemed to be effective. It looks like the Sox are sold on him being a starter since I’d have to think they would just send him to the bullpen if they weren’t.
So, who’s starting on Saturday then???? Curious minds want to know.
