Hurrican Irene has come and gone through New England and while there is no Sox game tonight, there is some Red Sox action going on. Tonight is the annual Beckett Bowl at Lucky Strike right across the street from Fenway Park. If you need some Red Sox related to do tonight, there is still time to buy tickets. COME ON DOWN! Here is a little info about Beckett Bowl:
Beckett Bowl is a star-studded charity bowling tournament hosted by Red Sox ace pitcher Josh Beckett. The event features an all-star lineup of athletes and celebrities joining local corporations and individuals who will bowl to raise funds for the Josh Beckett Foundation and Children’s Hospital Boston. The impressive roster of VIPs will include current and past Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, and New England Revolution players, along with actors, comedians, musicians and celebrity chefs with New England ties.
This year, the Josh Beckett Foundation is also hosting the Beckett Bowl Ultimate Jeep Raffle presented by AFTER FX CUSTOMS. The lucky Grand Prize winner will get a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport 4-Door fully customized by AFTER FX CUSTOMS. Winners will be drawn at the Beckett Bowl bowling event.
Since its inception in 2007, Beckett Bowl has raised more than $1 million for the Josh Beckett Foundation and Children’s Hospital.
