The last time the Chicago Cubs played the Red Sox in Fenway was in Game 6 of the 1918 World Series and the last Cubs player to get a hit at Fenway Park was Fred “Bonehead” Merkle (Check out why Merkle was nicknamed “Bonehead). Carl Mays pitched a complete game to give the Red Sox a 2-1 the win and the last World Series championship before the 86 year drought. Should be a fun series.
