The Red Sox lost a lead of 6-4 in the 8th inning last night when Okajima gave up a lead off homer to Magglio Ordonez. He then walked a batter and gave up two singles and allowed the Tigers to tie the game before Tito finally yanked him for Papelbon. Paps pitched well and gave the Sox a chance to take the lead in the 11th when Youk walked and Ortiz singled (thanks to Damon’s bad defense). Beltre then struck out and J.D. Drew grounded into a double play.
Schoeneweis and Ramon Ramirez helped Oki give the game away in the 12th. Schoeneweis gave up two hits and Ramon Ramirez walked two batters including the winning run on four pitches.
