The Red Sox have acquired second baseman Kevin Frandsen from the San Francisco Giants for a player to be named later.. Even though he looks a little like Pedroia in the picture, he is six feet tall so nobody will mistake the two. Frandsen hit .274 in 28 games with the Giants last season. He works out with Pedroia in the offseason and is very excited to join the Red Sox:
“I’m pretty excited for the opportunity and that Boston wanted me. I’m sure I’ll have a text in five minutes from Dustin…He’s one of my best friends,” Frandsen said of Pedroia, who is from Woodland. “He and his wife have taken me in as part of the family. Dustin’s well loved up there. He gives me the great stories from Boston all the time so it’s exciting to go out there.”
