Around the Youkiverse

Here are a couple of things to report from the world of Kevin Youkilis:

Youk’s brother, Scott Youkilis, is opening a new restaurant/bar in San Francisco this spring.  Scott is a chef and owner of Maverick Restaurant in San Francisico where he and Kevin created Youk’s Hot Sauce in 2009.  We may need a comparison taste test with Big Papi’s En Fuego Hot Sauce.

Rob over at The Bottom Line (also on the Bloguin Network) interviewed Youk’s agent Joe Bick.  Here’s a little nugget from the interview when Bick first saw Youk play in high school against future MLB All-Star Aaron Cook:

But, in that game, Cookie could not get Youk out!  If my memory’s correct, Youk went 3-4 with a double, 2 HRs and, of course, a walk, along with 6 or 7 RBIs.  Hamilton won the game something like 16-8, but Youk certainly made a lasting impression.
