The Red Sox could ship Bowden, Bard, and Kalish to San Diego and still have a solid farm system for the future. Theo and Lucchino have strong ties to the Padres so they should be able to work something out if they are willing to give up some prospects. Most Red Sox deals involve secrecy (think Coco) so maybe no news is good news on this one.
