“I’m pretty sure it was the worst game I’ve ever played against the Lakers,” Thompson told CSNBayArea.com after shootaround Monday, hours before tipoff against the New Orleans Pelicans.

But Thompson has a point: If anything, (Kevin) Durant’s arrival has afforded Thompson even more open looks than normal. He shot 42.3 percent from three-point range in the preseason. In games that count, Thompson is making only 28.6 percent of his three-pointers when there is nobody within 6 feet of him.

“Obviously we have different players, but I’m still getting the shots I always got before he was here,” Thompson said. “It’s not on Kevin at all.”

Head coach Steve Kerr has suggested that Thompson is “pressing” at times, not allowing himself the chance to find much of a rhythm. Thompson believes the explanation is simpler: Shooting ruts plague all players and this is just one of his.

“I think I’m taking good shots,” Thompson said. “Just haven’t fallen yet, and they will. Only takes for me a couple to go in and … right back on track.”

“The ones that feel good are the ones that are online. When it’s off-line, that’s when it doesn’t feel good. When it’s online and it’s long, even short, you know it’s your legs. Last game, I had a ton of misses short. So I just got to get some rest and use my legs more. Make an adjustment.”
