Cam Neely disclosed that he has been in touch with the Edmonton Oilers, and that the Bruins will be receiving a draft choice, of Edmonton’s choosing, at some point over the next three years. Per the CBA it is supposed to be a second round pick as compensation for an executive moving to a different NHL when it’s an “in season” move, and for executives it is considered “in season” up until NHL Draft weekend.
So that’s pretty huge for the Bruins. I doubt the Bruins will get anything in this upcoming draft, but knowing that you have a second round pick coming to you at some point from Edmonton is a good thing to have in the hopper.
