Well, add a backup goaltender to the list of needs for the Bruins. DJ Bean has reported that Niklas Svedberg has signed with an unnamed KHL team. This season was a strange one for the Bruins, including the backup goaltending spot which has always been a strength of theirs. It is unknown if the Bruins were down on Svedberg based on his talent or because the defense was downright fucking terrible. I’m sure it is a little bit of both but it is tough to gauge a player based on 18 game played.
Either way, Sveddy is gone and the Bruins have a few internal options. Malcolm Subban looks like the prime candidate for the backup role but his one start in 2014-2015 wasn’t impressive. Jeremy Smith could see time as the Bruins’ back up as well.
Just add another position to the list.
