Roster Updates: Early this morning, the Indians sent Brandon Moss to St. Louis in exchange to Advanced A left hander, Rob Kaminsky. For more on this deal check out my analysis from this morning. Raminsky has been assigned to the Lynchburg Hillcats.

In place of Moss on the 25 man roster, Lonnie Chisenhall has been recalled. Combined with the addition of Tyler Holt yesterday, the two will likely split time with Michael Bourn and Ryan Raburn to cover DH, right and center field.

Player of the Game

Rebounding from his worst start of the season, Carlos Carrasco continued the recent Indians starters success with their third complete game in a row. Carrasco took advantage of some excellent infield defense, particularly from Giovanny Urshela, to go all nine, striking out seven. He allowed just two hits, one walk and one run that came in the first inning along with both hits. This was the first time since 1994 that three Indians starters pitched consecutive complete games. His POG score of 10.20 makes this his second best game this season behind his near no hitter. This game was almost the opposite that as he didn’t allow a hit after the first and retired the last 16 batters in a row.

Feathers Up

The Indians continued their momentum from yesterday’s game into the first inning tonight with four hits and three runs to start the game. Jason Kipnis singled to start, but was caught stealing when Francisco Lindor missed an attempted sacrifice bunt. Lindor then singled and scored on a Michael Brantley double and Sam Fuld error. Carlos Santana then took the fielders out of the equation as he launched a 1-1 Chris Bassitt fastball just over the center field wall for the early three run lead.

Lindor had another nice game, building on his last game when he had two hits, a home run and four RBI. Lindor had two hits tonight, a steal and scored a run. Since hitting a low of .207 on July 7th, Lindor has raised his average to .264 tonight with 11 runs and 13 RBI since July 8th.

Feathers Down

After giving up three in the first, Bassitt really clamped down and the Indians had trouble creating anything off him. He consistently threw strikes and had the Indians hitters fooled, so much so that in one at bat Carlos Santana swung at a pitch after the catcher caught it. The Indians had just two hits in all after the first inning and just one real scoring chance when Lindor singled, stole second and took third on a throwing error. He was stranded at third.

Final Score: Cleveland Indians 3  Oakland Athletics 1

On Deck: Tomorrow night’s game will be a little earlier, a half hour to be exact as Danny Salazar and Kendall Graveman will face off at 9:35 PM ET in Oakland.
