With edge rushers and linebackers flying off the board early in round 2, the Bills decided it was time to make a move. And that they did – moving up to 41 from 49 (trading their early 4th rounder and a 4th rounder in 2017) to select Reggie Ragland, MLB ‘BAMA to the team. I’m pretty happy with the pick – a guy they could’ve gotten at 19 they instead get at 41 along with Lawson at 19. That’s not a bad haul. The 6’1, 247 lb SEC Defensive Player of the Year will walk into a starting spot in the middle of the defense – and perhaps figure into the pass rush on 3rd down while he learns the nuances of NFL coverages.
Per ESPN, as long as he gets yearly EKGs, he’ll be fine with his enlarged aorta, so I’m just gonna go #Berls and say “HE’S GOT MORE HEART THAN ANY OTHER BACKER ON THE FIELD!”
Two fours to Chicago is +25 to a little pricey, but that could be (as Joe mentioned) losing out on a potential Ed Wang or a Bryce Brown-esque trade. No big deal. The Bills still have their pick at 80 – which I’ve heretofore dubbed as the “QB Christening Pick”.
Get Loud Buffalo.
Scouting Reports: Rob Quinn did a great one for Reggie on Building the Herd.
Up Next?
The Bills will pick again at 80 – unless Doug Whaley gets another itch to trade…
Previous Pick:
Round 1 – Shaq Lawson
