Titans/Bills predictions by @mmigliore @manecci @BLeez17 @SeanCorleone & cast of 1000s

Mike Migliore (@mmigliore) 2-2-  It’s still a goddamn forward lateral and it always will be. No one can ever convince me otherwise. By the way, I’ve you’ve ever listened to me talk about the Bills, you’ve probably heard my theory about how that one game in Tennessee set this franchise back a good, oh I don’t know, 16 years. The chain reaction of events from that game has led them to where they are today. Think about it: Phillips starts Johnson over Flutie (on Ralph’s orders, of course), causing a huge divide in his locker room that tore the team apart in 2000. He also fired special teams coach Bruce DeHaven after the Music City Miracle and hired Ronnie Jones, who was not qualified at all to coach at the professional level. The Bills lost more than one game in 2000 as a result of horrid special teams play (Football Outsiders has the 2000 Bills as the worst special teams unit they have ever measured).

A talented Bills team that went 11-5 a year earlier went 8-8 in 2000 and both Phillips and GM John Butler were fired at the end of the year. This begat Tom Donahoe as team president and Gregg Williams as head coach, which eventually led to Marv Levy as GM and Dick Jauron as head coach and eventually Russ Brandon as acting GM and so on and so on and now I’m so upset I’m going to jam sharpened pencils into my eyes so I have a reason to forget all the stuff I just went over. Anyways, the 2015 Bills will get back on track with a win Sunday in the Music City. 2-2 is I think where we all expected the Bills to be after four games, even if Sunday’s Giants game was hugely disappointing. The penalties will begin to even out and Tyrod is still playing better than I thought possible. So that’s all good. A loss on Sunday probably means a line of people waiting to jump off the Peace Bridge, which I would fully understand because the Bills should beat this team. Prediction: Bills 27, Titans 14

Michael Necci @manecci (2-2) I like Rex Ryan, I’m glad he is the Bills head football coach, but I’m getting tired of the noise and the mouth. Saying that Mariota “won’t get over on us” or whatever his exact quote was rubbed me the wrong way. How about you just shut up and coach? How about you discipline your team and re-store some chill? This team is such a reflection of their coach, and it greatly annoys me. I know I predicted 11-5 , but after last weeks collapse this team reeks of 8-8. I don’t see them winning this week nor next week vs The Bengals. Tennessee wins it 23 – 16. Not much good College Football on Saturday except for a nice 10:00pm kickoff in Utah, when The Utes play host to the Cal Bears and future NFL QB Jared Goff.

Scott Michalak (@ScottyMCSS) (2-2) There’s an emotion to this team this year that came preadvertised as bullying. That sounds great at a rally at the beginning of the year, but since then, bully culture has turned the season upside down. The Bills are 2-2 largely due to a ridiculous amount of face palm penalties. Playing with emotion is fine, but this is pro football, and professionals must be accountable on the field. So far, “emotion” (or whatever you want to call it) cost this team one game. That’s a big deal, and usurps my hopes for a 12-4 finish, but this is still a team built for playoff football. Don’t hop off the bandwagon. Penalties aside, this week features one very favorable statistic – Mariota takes a bit more time to chuck the football than Brady and Manning. That should give the defense enough time to keep the Titans, and hopefully themselves, in check. Bills win, via this highly scientific formula that I just made up: Bills 28, Titans 13 (without disastrous penalties), Bills 21, Titans 20 (with disastrous penalties)

Brad Gelber, @BradleyGelber (1-3): As I wrote about this week, I have no idea how to feel about this team right now. I know Mariota’s good, but the Titans O-Line isn’t. I’m praying that means the Bills D-Line can finally get to the QB. Hopefully Tyrod can take over since the RB situation looks like a mess (go figure.) I’ll take the Bills, narrowly, which based on how I’ve done this season is probably not a good thing. 20-13 Bills

Brett Ludwiczak – @BLeez17 – 1-3- Even though the game has been over for nearly a week, officials in the Giants/Bills game just threw another flag on Buffalo. Had it not been for the countless stupid mistakes, Buffalo could’ve found a way to win last week’s game. Now they have to hit the road to play Tennessee, but thankfully there won’t be any “Music City Miracles” this time. I can’t wait to see the pass rush of Buffalo get in Marcus Mariota’s face and force him into some turnovers which lead to easy touchdowns for the Bills. I’m a little concerned Tennessee might come out with a big effort out of their bye week, but I’m confident Rex Ryan will have his team ready to win. Buffalo 31 Tennessee 17

Chris @2ITB_Buffalo (2-2)- It seems as if the sky has fallen on the 2015 Buffalo Bills season despite the year only being four weeks old. There’s no reason to panic, especially considering that this week’s game opens a favorable stretch of the Bills’ schedule. I’m thinking this is the week that the pass rush lets loose and disrupts Marcus Mariota throughout the afternoon. The offense clearly struggled to establish the run last week and I’m hopeful that with John Miller’s return, the run game will find a bit more traction. Of course, with only Boobie Dixon and new-to-the-system Boom Herron in the backfield, I’m not sure how effective that unit will be. However, I liked Tyrod’s game once he settled in a bit last week and if the Bills can keep from bringing touchdowns back on penalties, I expect to see a win. Buffalo 26 Tennessee 16

Sean – @SeanCorleone (2-2) – Well, last week’s loss really sucked. The only real bright side from the loss to the Giants is that it wasn’t a loss to an AFC opponent, but the Bills have to win the games they are supposed to win, especially at home. This team now finds itself in a position where it’s pretty much imperative that they win these next 3 games before the bye week arrives, because once the bye is over with, things start to get a little difficult. This week they face a Titans team that has definitely improved from last year. They have an exciting young quarterback who has them off to a promising start, but in reality this game is one that the Bills should take. As long as Gilmore and Darby continue to be one of the best corner tandems in the league, I’m not seeing much for the Titans to work with this week offensively. Here’s to hoping that this defense can get a bit of redemption this week against a quarterback who has shown on occasion that he holds the ball a little too long. If Tennessee attempts to follow the blueprint of quick passes to avoid the wrath of the Buffalo defensive front, then mistakes will be made. Its one thing to have an idea how to beat this defense, but to actually do it without a veteran like Brady or Manning is a whole other animal. My prediction is that Tyrod has a big day, even without much of a run game to support him. Injuries are key to this Buffalo team right now, but this is a week where I think they can get through it. Let’s just hope that they’re healthier next week when they take on the Bengals. Final score, Buffalo 28 – Tennessee 14.

Rich (2-2, @RDOTDEUCE): This is as close to a must win as you can get in week 5. In fact, after watching Thursday’s game, the bills cannot not sweep the afc south if they want to make the post season. Dick Lebeau has a scary track record with rookie starters, but I think that Tyrod having been a raven may help negate that. I’m going to call this one Bills 23-Titans 16 but I’m pretty nervous about the team post giants.

Joe@Buffalowins (2-2)- This is a big game. I can’t even imagine how crazy the city will be if they somehow lose to the Titans. The honeymoon wouldn’t be ever for Rex because it would extend to the plotline of every horror movie where a couple gets hunted down while trying to consummate the marriage. The Bills have never won in Tennessee and haven’t even beaten the Titans since 2000 (0-5 over that time). The Bills are banged up on office, but the Titans aren’t exactly a defensive juggernaut. In the Titans last 10 games, they’ve given up 27+ points seven times. Mariota, who has been impressive for a rookie, has had some issues dealing with pressure as he’s been sacked 12 times in 3 games. Rex Ryan is 8-4 against rookie QBs as a head coach and I think he goes to 9-4. Bills win, 20-13.
