Dear Bills,
Sorry I wasn’t around to see your game from last week against the Broncos. I had been working late and missed the whole thing but saw the impending score of doom. Again, preseason football but it would’ve been nice to read that while you scored a touchdown you also won the game.
The game against the Jaguars from the other night was much, much better and I think with watching more and more, I’m understanding the concepts of the game of football a lot better as well. I still have to learn what pushes a ref to throw a flag, some different plays and things like that but I’m sure that once I watch a few more games when the regular season comes around it’ll be no issues. I’m quite the quick learner.
I noticed that as the game first started, your opener titled ‘Lead The Charge’ only showed two Bills – Fitzpatrick and Steve Johnson. I figured you probably couldn’t have a lot of players be shot in that commercial (I mean, no one seems to be safe on this team from being traded) but I think you need more than two guys to ‘lead the charge’ onto the field. Maybe show off some other guys once cuts are made. Just a thought.
I also randomly took notice once they showed a profile of Fitz on the screen that QBs seem to go to prestigious schools. Trent had gone to Stanford and Fitz went to Harvard. These guys are smart – too bad if you get hit in the noggin, you probably forget all of that education you learned. I’m looking at you, Trent. Poor buddy. Speaking of Trent, I had to look up to see if he was still on the Jaguars. I guess that ship has sailed. Buzz Lightyear aka Paul Posluszny could have had a friend on the team while being there. Don’t ask about the nickname – if you just look at him from a certain angle, I swear you can see the resemblance.
Now a stupid fact that no one cares about that only is relevant to Shelby is…I used to perform with the Attica High School Marching Band before Bills games! Woohoo! Seeing the sideline before the game began only reminded me of those days. I hated it. No one watched us, no one cared (except the crazy band parents). Everyone was getting their beer, they were watching the Jills. The food we would get for lunch was crap. CRAP. I hope someone that works with the Bills sees this and changes what they give out for food to the marching band kids. You guys sucked and ruined my Sundays. /off soapbox
Now for something on your performance: I didn’t actually see you win because I didn’t think you would. Needless to say, I was extremely shocked to see that you won in OT. Good job not blowing it for once. Holy crap though, I hope no one gets hurt in the first string. Fitz was the only one who could throw the ball and make complete passes. I was very impressed with Easley, Jackson…Thigpen was a disaster. I started calling him Pigpen since it was so bad. I think the only thing I noticed he was good at is that the man can run. Run, Pigpen, run. It looked like the defense was terrible too after the first string was through. Just cut everyone and only keep the first string players. If anyone happens to get hurt or dies, well, we’re screwed.
One last thing worth mentioning: maybe it’s because I’m new to this but I really do not like the Bills version of the song ‘Shout’. I never did and never will. Mainly because I think you guys are going to make me want to commit murder and not shout but you know.
