Move over, Mark Pysyk.
Pysyk, (@mpysyk30) and fellow Sabres prospect Marcus Foligno (@marcusfoligno) have been the only two “Sabres” on Twitter – with Foligno surfacing only just recently. Sabres fans were quick to hit the “follow” button on their profiles, to get a daily inside fix on what it’s like to be wearing pro skates.
Now, it looks like the Buffalo Sabres are beginning to re-emerge on the Twitter scene, to the #SquealingDelight of fans online. It has been a long time since the boys of the Blue and Gold disappeared from “The Conversation,” but as Ted Black indicated during his epic 3 hour and 18 minute fan chat, it was up to the players if they wanted to be on Twitter now.
Though his account is yet to be verified, the first to skate back on screen and back into our stalking hearts is Chris Butler (@cbbutler34). Hopefully he or the team will verify his account soon, and hopefully other players will follow his lead.

However, this happens at a very awkward time.
Not to put anyone’s cake in the rain, but it’s playoff time, and the last thing we need is a thousand angry fans sending hateful drunken tweets to our players after a hard loss. So, in an effort to avoid such a fanatical catastrophe, I’d like to present 5 simple rules to fans. Learn them, love them, live them:
- Do not send hateful drunken tweets to the Sabres after they lose.

- Do not send hateful drunken tweets to the Sabres after they lose.
- Do not send hateful drunken tweets to the Sabres after they lose.

Salesmen say that you need to say something 3 times before it takes root in someone’s memory. I said this 5 times, so there are no excuses, folks. I don’t care how many arena beers-deep you may be after a game – do not send hateful drunken tweets to the Sabres after they lose.
Don’t be a distraction.
Now, go forth, and stalk. (At least this might divert some stalking attention away from the Pegula daughters.)

UPDATE: It seems Drew Stafford has begun to tweet as well. His account is also unverified as yet.

UPDATE: As feared, Bill Hoppe, of MSG, has confirmed that @drewstafford is, indeed, a fake account. He is currently working to verify Chris Butler’s account.
UPDATE: As was feared, the Chris Butler account has been revealed to be fake, with a strange, hyserical rant through a fake Darcy Reiger account. What a strange, strange story.
